Fans urge the boycott of K-pop’s “Big 4” agencies to support Palestine.

The boycott movement has recently gained traction in the K-pop sector, with fans pushing for a general boycott of the “Big 4” agency.

On January 23, 2024, Kpop fans banded together to trend #strikeAgainstThe4 on X, boycotting albums and song streaming by BLACKPINK, EXO, fromis_9, and others in solidarity with the current Palestine situation.

Furthermore, K-pop fans worldwide have banded together to boycott South Korea’s four major entertainment companies: HYBE Corporation, JYP Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and SM Entertainment.

According to fans calling for a boycott, the Big 4 agencies are allowing their idols to use brands’ products and even collaborate with musicians that support Israel. Despite supporters’ appeals to end these relationships, the firms are doing nothing useful.

“By stopping the streams, album, and merch sales and lowering the income of the companies and getting attention from them, it will put the companies into tight spots and give them no other choice but to band the Zionist brands, which in result will also help to educate our artists,” a member of the audience added.

The boycott is expected to span five days, from January 23 to January 28, and would target all artists signed to HYBE, SM, and YG. It also utilizes the hashtag #StrikeAgainstThe4.
