New Jeans Ranked First in Brand Reputation for Idol Groups in August; BTS Takes 2nd Place, Followed by Ive

In the realm of idol groups, New Jeans has risen to the top in terms of brand reputation for the month of August. The brand’s popularity surged, securing the leading position in the idol group brand reputation ranking.

The rankings, released by the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute on August 15, reveal New Jeans as the frontrunner in the big data analysis results for idol group brand reputation in August 2023. Following closely behind is BTS, claiming second place, while Ive lands the third position.

1. New Jeans

The members of New Jeans, including Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, who collectively constitute the band, garnered a remarkable band reputation index of 10,001,027. Their active participation index reached 1,222,836, with the media index at 2,603,624, the communication index at 2,793,165, and the community index at 3,381,402. This marks a significant increase of 67.47% compared to their previous band reputation index of 5,971,913.

Koo Chang-hwan, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, commented, “New Jeans’ band demonstrated high levels of participation, performance, and recording, as reflected in our link analysis. Furthermore, keywords such as ‘Jamboree,’ ‘Billboard,’ and ‘Super Shy’ emerged prominently in our keyword analysis.”

The brand reputation index serves as a crucial metric derived from extensive brand big data analysis, reflecting the impact of consumers’ online habits on brand consumption. Through the evaluation of idol group brand reputation, it becomes feasible to assess positive and negative assessments of idol group brands, gauge media interest, and comprehend consumer engagement and communication. The evaluation also encompasses a qualitative assessment conducted by brand reputation monitors.

August 2023 witnessed New Jeans, BTS, Ive, Seventeen, Zero Base One, Black Pink, NCT, LE SSERAFIM, (G)I-DLE, EXO, INFINITE, ITZY, OH MY GIRL, THE BOYZ, MONSTA X, Stray Kids, SHINee, Girls’ Generation, TWICE, MAMAMOO, BTOB, NMIX, Red Velvet, Super Junior, Apink, Enhyphen, and Treasure making their presence felt in the top 30 idol group brand reputation rankings.

2. BTS

Claiming the second spot, BTS, with members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, attained a brand reputation index of 6,497,937. Their participation index stood at 513,030, complemented by the media index at 1,027,625, the communication index at 2,084,530, and the community index at 2,872,752. This represents a 4.07% decrease from their July brand reputation index of 6,773,406.

3. Ive’s band

Seizing the third position, Ive’s band, consisting of An Yu-jin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo, accumulated a brand reputation index of 4,895,215. The participation index reached 653,366, while the media index and communication index tallied 823,455 and 1,621,137 respectively. The community index peaked at 1,797,257. Comparatively, this showcases a substantial 22.91% improvement from their July brand reputation index of 3,982,683.

4. Seventeen

Securing the fourth rank, Seventeen, featuring members such as S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino, recorded a brand reputation index of 4,522,941. Notably, their participation index hit 595,938, while the media index and communication index stood at 863,607 and 1,207,263 respectively. The community index reached 1,856,133, marking a substantial increase of 28.32% from their July brand reputation index of 3,524,694.
